Vienna-based online tutoring scaleup GoStudent achieves unicorn status, with €205 million Series C investment "GoStudent, the Vienna-based edtech scaleup which provides video-based online tutoring in 1-on-1 format, has hit unicorn status, following a successful Series C funding round of €205 million. The round was led by DST Global with participation from additional new investors including SoftBank Vision Fund 2, Tencent, Dragoneer and existing investors Coatue, Left Lane Capital and DN Capital."

Europe's unicorn herd grows bigger and faster in 2021 "In total, 23 companies in Europe and Israel have become unicorns so far this year, easily beating 2020's total of eight, according to PitchBook data. Despite the ongoing effects of the pandemic, a record amount of VC capital has continued to flow to European startups, with €32.5 billion (around $39.3 billion) invested so far, putting the year on track to surpass last year's €37.6 billion."
